THE PAWA AFRICAN PRIZE FOR POETRY

CHANGE OF NAME

The Pan African Writers Association (PAWA) wishes to announce the change of name of its Poetry Prize from The Atukwei Okai African Prize for Poetry to the PAWA AFRICAN PRIZE FOR POETRY

This became necessary in view of the observation by the Atukwei Okai Family of its exclusive rights to the name ‘ Atukwei Okai’

The Prize which will be for poetry collections published by individual authors between 2018 to 2021 will be in 5 categories of Arabic, English, French, Kiswahili and Portuguese.

Entries which are open to African Writers at home and in the diaspora must be in digital form and should be sent by email to pawahouse@gmail.com.

Entries will be judged by individual Judges in each category of Arabic, English, French, Kiswahili and Portuguese.

Prizes of $2,000 per category will be awarded at a date to be announced.

Deadline for Submissions remains October 31 2021.
